- ART QUILTS -
Is one of my first major art pieces combining my graphics training and using the freezer paper technique. I have a lot more to explore with this theme. (48x36).
Reflects some of the things I have seen living in Canada. I still have some things I want to do with this quilt. It is a finished work in progress. The learning curve for me was getting it from computer graphic collage to material and have it make sense to the viewer. (size).
This piece is a tribute to my dad who was a dairy farmer. He would often be up at first light doing the milking and normal farm chores. He would come in for breakfast and tell me about the cows. Spring is my favorite time on a farm because he would tell me which cow had given birth. He would always take me out to see the new calf. It is only now that I feel my skills are capable of depicting this scene in fabric in a way that I remember it. Appliqué pieced and free motion quilted.
